KWE ready to take orders for E Type EV conversion!

KWE is the approved installer for Electrogenic (https://www.electrogenic.co.uk/) Jaguar EV conversion kits. These are well-proven, professionally designed kits comprising electric motor, battery pack, control gear, charger etc. Electrogenic is the UK leader for such conversions, and have appointed KWE as their chosen installer for all Jaguar classic cars. Equally, KWE has been dabbling in EV conversion for some while, but has chosen to go with the best, bolt-in solutions from Electrogenic, having seen their design philosophy and driven their results!

The first Jaguar kit to be rolled out is for the E Type, for which Electrogenic already has significant demand. They have no desire to be involved in serial conversion of cars, and so have sought and found a suitable specialist – KWE!

We are ready to take orders now. Prices are in the region of £70,000 to £90,000 + vat, depending on power and range options, for a full conversion. Range is around 150 miles, dependent on battery size specified, and driving style. There are bespoke options for instrumentation and controls which may add to the cost.

As a Jaguar restoration specialist we can also attend to any other repairs and restoration work required at the same time.

The original engine can be retained (and stored, at cost) should the owner want.

Work on the XJS conversion is on-going, and we will announce readiness once the prototype is completed and fully proved at Electrogenic – with KWE input.

We recognise that converting classic cars is controversial, and fully understand those who wouldn’t dream of doing so. But there is a surprisingly high percentage of owners who would indeed make the change on environmental, reliability and performance grounds. Not to mention avoiding the increasingly burdensome city ULEZ charges.
