A rare 1960 Facel Vega HK500 that has spent almost 50 years tucked away in a garage is being auctioned later this month.

Anyone who works in the car business will tell you that, thankfully, the industry is full of petrolheads. It always has been and it still is.

One week ago, a 1987 Ford Sierra smashed records by selling for a staggering £596,250 at auction.

Granted this was no normal Ford family car. The motor in question was one of 500 limited-edition Sierra RS500 Cosworths, which have fast become one of the most collectible vehicles from the eighties era.

A group of automotive industry bodies have joined forces in a bid to prevent the Government from introducing changes to the MOT testing requirements for cars and vans.
